LEARN WITH SUPPORT
Welcome, I am so happy you are here.
My name is Mirabai, a mother of two neurodivergent boys, an educational advocate, developmental specialist, and the founder of therightfit. I understand how overwhelming it is to navigate the educational and medical systems alone while worrying if your child is okay. My promise, will always be transparency. We specialize in early intervention using a parent coaching neurodiverse affirming approach through the early years.
My mission is to empower families in understanding their educational parental rights and how to navigate the complexities of the education system to advocate for therightfit in their child’s learning. This means assessing your child’s “goodness of fit” to create an action plan based on parent and child priorities, concerns and resources. The key ingredient is routine based intervention which allows consistency across settings. We use evidenced based practices following the child’s interests and strengths. Early intervention services address the child’s health and safety and must be appropriately ambitious, presuming competence.
Just like that, you’ll gain clarity on what your child needs and what you envision for them—then we’ll work on how to make it happen. Together, we’ll craft a parent impact statement to share your child’s school, laying the groundwork for effective interventions across home, school, and community settings. Advocacy doesn’t come with guarantees, and is a financial investment. My goal is to empower parents to understand their child’s rightfit in learning by evaluating current school placements(public, private charter or home-school). In understanding your parental rights you will be able to make informed decisions in line with your goals for your child. Special Education involves a balance —leveraging educational rights while working within the realities of local school districts in an effort to team together. Finally, we increase and maximize access to insurance funded services; requesting medically necessary, adaptive equipment and assistive technology, such as robust communication devices. Families who are raising children with neurodiverse needs may need financial help, and we are here to harness state and federally funded resources. Joining therightfit community will support you, whether raising a child with typical or medically complex needs.
“Presume competence, it is really that simple.”
